As part of the Amrun wharf construction in North Queensland, Australia, McConnel Dowell Constructors contracted Subcon to grout the pile/leg annuluses of seven jacket structures. In total 324m3 of grout was used to complete the job.
Subcon scope
Subcon designed an inflatable packer to seal the bottom of the jacket leg. Upon inflation of this packer 4m3 of grout was poured into the annulus to serve as a grout plug.
The grout plug was allowed to cure overnight and the remaining 13m3 of the annulus was grouted.
